Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Programmer / Prototype Machinist to support prototype fabrication and low-volume production in Livermore, CA. You will program, set up, and operate HAAS CNC and manual machines, collaborating with engineering to move concepts to manufacturable processes.

The role requires strong multitasking, independence, and input on manufacturability improvements. Proficiency with SolidWorks/CAMWorks and live tooling a plus; high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machinist experience with CNC and manual mills/lathes.
• 3+ years CNC programming experience, prototype or precision manufacturing context.
• HAAS machines proficiency for lathes and mills including live tooling.
• Ability to design/ fabricate workholding devices and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills (HAAS) and manual machines.
• Create and optimize CNC programs for prototypes and small-batch parts.
• Use CAMWorks/SolidWorks to generate toolpaths for small batches (~10 units per part).
• Design and build fixtures, jigs, and workholding for safe, accurate machining.
• Interpret drawings and ensure parts meet specs and tolerances.
• Work independently, manage priorities, document work using MS Office.
