Job summary

Symmetrio is recruiting a full-time Field Service Engineer in Washington, DC to support proton therapy systems at customer sites. The role requires troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and on-site service across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.

The ideal candidate has a technical background, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field or 4–6+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Experience with radiation therapy equipment, proton therapy systems, medical physics, or dosimetry is strongly preferred.
• Strong electrical/electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience on complex equipment.
• Experience with instrumentation, computer interfaces, control systems, imaging systems, and software troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of computer networking and networking techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, test, and maintain proton therapy systems and related equipment at customer sites.
• Provide on-site technical support including preventive and corrective maintenance and post-service testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, instrumentation, control, and system interface issues to restore performance.
• Monitor system operation and communicate status to customers and internal teams.
• Support related clinical and technical systems including motion control, CT scanners, and X-ray equipment.
