Job summary

Symmetrio is seeking a Field Service Engineer (full-time) to support proton therapy systems at customer sites. The role covers installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and routine service on complex medical devices.

You will work in Morristown, NJ, with some travel and a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has strong electrical, mechanical, or technical background, experience with clinical systems, and a customer-facing approach.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field or 4–6+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with radiation therapy equipment or medical devices is preferred.
Strong electrical/electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Experience with instrumentation, control systems, and software troubleshooting.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Operate, troubleshoot, test, and maintain proton therapy systems at customer sites.
Provide on-site technical support, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and control system issues.
Monitor system operation and communicate status to customers and internal teams.
Support related clinical and technical systems, including CT scanners and X-ray equipment.
Perform service activities per maintenance schedules and regulatory standards.
Document service interventions and issues in line with quality requirements.
Maintain service tools, spare parts, and inventory for field support.
