Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in New York, NY is seeking a Floating Field Service Engineer for Varian Proton Therapy systems. This on-site role supports multiple sites with the New York location as your primary base, requiring travel up to 85% and flexible shifts to service complex equipment.

You will maintain safety, perform maintenance checks, provide on-site customer support, generate field reports, and complete trainings to stay FDA compliant.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technologies or 2 years of related experience.
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken; customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot from technical drawings using root-cause methodologies.
• Proficient with common tooling and instrumentation listed above.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional knowledge and safety per Varian/SHS guidelines.
• Provide visible customer support and assist operation of the Proton Therapy System.
• Serve as liaison with customers on technical/administrative matters.
• Perform operational quality checks including planned maintenance on time.
• Provide accurate field service reports and complete necessary bulletins and upgrades on schedule.
• Complete trainings and certifications to maintain FDA compliance.
• Use internal software (MS Office, SAP, Salesforce, PLC GUI, Varian apps) effectively.
• Support other field service roles (Safety Coordinator, Spare Parts Inventory, Radiation Safety).
• Meet vendor credentialing requirements for client-site access; travel as needed.
