Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Varian Proton Therapy Field Service Engineer to provide on-site operation, maintenance, and performance for Proton Therapy Systems at the New York, NY site. You will travel to multiple sites as needed and support high-precision subsystems including high vacuum, cryogenics, superconducting magnets, high voltage, RF, X-ray CT, robotics, and PLC controls.

You will complete safety, quality checks, and maintenance while generating detailed service reports and staying

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Engineering Technologies or 2 years of related experience in military or high tech industry.
Must be able to work at heights above 20 feet or in cramped spaces.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Customer-focused attitude.
Troubleshoot using technical drawings and root cause methodologies.
Proficiency with mechanical tools (torque wrenches, gauges, calipers, micrometers).
Proficiency with electrical tools (digital multimeter, oscilloscopes, soldering).
Knowledge of computer/network basics and Siemens/Varian software interfaces.

Responsibilities

Maintain a high degree of safety knowledge and act per Varian/SHS guidelines.
Provide visible customer support and operate the system with customers.
Serve as liaison with the customer on technical/admin matters.
Perform monitoring checks and scheduled maintenance on time.
Provide detailed field service reports.
Complete service bulletins and upgrades promptly.
Complete required training to maintain FDA compliance.
Utilize internal software (Microsoft Office, SAP, Salesforce, PLC GUI) and Varian controls.
Support other field service roles and meet vendor credentialing requirements.
Travel to other Proton Therapy sites as needed; shifts may vary; up to 85% travel.
