Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Protein Conversion Production Manager to lead operations at a pet food ingredient and protein conversion facility. This role oversees day-to-day conversion and rendering to achieve production goals while maintaining safety, quality, sanitation, and environmental compliance.

The supervisor will lead hourly partners, promote morale, and act as liaison between hourly teams and upper management to ensure objectives are clearly communicated and achieved.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; College degree in related field preferred.
• Experience: 5 years in poultry, food manufacturing, or management is required.
• Skills: Effective communication both orally and in writing; capable of independent decision making; basic computer knowledge; ability to manage multiple priorities; good math skills and basic mechanical knowledge.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the production within the facility.
• Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield and quality goals.
• Provide clear direction for supervisors to work toward and encourage teamwork to achieve goals.
• Monitor operations to meet policies, quality specifications, USDA and OSHA standards.
• Conduct plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.
• Manage all aspects of operations to assure a safe working environment.
• Ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met by maintaining product quality standards, monitoring specifications, and addressing deviations promptly.
• Monitor production data, yields, downtime, and labor efficiency; use analysis to drive process improvements and productivity.
• Enforce safety programs and best practices; conduct audits and incident investigations; ensure compliance with OSHA and food/feed safety standards.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Operations Team.
