Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Feed Mill Manager to lead all aspects of feed mill operations, ensuring safe, efficient production and delivery of high‑quality feed products while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

This role oversees ingredient procurement, production scheduling, maintenance planning, budgeting, supervision of mill staff, quality control, and dispatch of feed, with focus on continuous improvement and cost control in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Feed Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business Management, or related field preferred.
• Completion of a vocational/technical certification program in related field may be considered.
• Minimum five (5) years of directly related feed mill/production management experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership and employee supervision experience.
• Experience managing budgets, capital expenditures, and operating costs.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the feed manufacturing facility to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
• Order feed ingredients and coordinate railcar deliveries and spotting schedules with railroad providers.
• Supervise all feed mill personnel, including feed haul drivers and production staff.
• Schedule, coordinate, and assist with preventative and corrective maintenance activities for mill equipment.
• Prepare batch feed and oversee feed production processes as needed.
• Develop and manage capital budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Perform dispatch duties and coordinate feed delivery logistics when necessary.
• Implement and maintain quality control programs and operating procedures to ensure product consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate supply of ingredients and materials.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Drive operational improvements focused on productivity, efficiency, and cost control.
• Other duties as assigned.
