Qualifications

• Bachelor's with 2-3 years or MS with 1-2 years in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, bioengineering or related field.
• Direct experience engineering functional proteins using high-throughput experimentation and workflows.
• DNA/RNA design, purification, quantification, cloning, PCR, and transformation/transfection experience.
• Biochemical analytical techniques including electrophoresis, ELISA, enzyme activity assays, MS, and protein characterization.
• Ability to work full-time at San Carlos location with flexibility for time-sensitive projects.

Responsibilities

• Optimize, produce, and characterize many enzymes/therapeutic proteins in parallel.
• Document experimental designs and results with excellent records.
• Analyze data and propose next steps for experiments.
• Present results to multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with enzyme engineering and computational teams.
