Dartmouth College's bioMT Core Facilities seek a Protein Biochemist to lead recombinant protein design, production, and purification across multiple expression systems (E. coli, HEK/CHO, Sf9/Hi5). The role involves developing purification workflows, handling analytical methods, and contributing to structural biology projects.

You will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students, training others and optimizing protocols to advance multidisciplinary research across the Dartmouth community.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant research experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Express and purify recombinant proteins for research projects.
• Design optimal constructs for protein production in E. coli, HEK/CHO, and insect cells.
• Optimize expression conditions and purification workflows for diverse targets.
• Develop and refine purification protocols using chromatographic methods.
• Gain proficiency with AKTA systems and analytical instruments.
• Support proteomics projects with sample prep and LC-MS/MS data analysis.
• Prepare samples for structure determination by X-ray crystallography or cryo-EM.
• Provide training and troubleshoot experimental design and equipment.
