OCES is seeking a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to investigate and address allegations of abuse and neglect within the elder community.

Schedule and Environment: Monday through Friday with flexible options, hybrid work environment (remote and in-office).

Responsibilities

• Promote the independence of members and provide services in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment.
• Conduct home visits to assess reports of abuse, including travel within the catchment area.
• Investigate and evaluate the functional capacity, situation, and resources of elders.
• Develop and implement protective service plans to reduce risks and prevent abuse.
• Determine the need for court petitions for Protective Orders and refer serious cases to the District Attorney.
• Provide emergency coverage for the PS department outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping others and making a difference.
• Adaptability to changing needs of clients and programs.
• At least two years of experience in human services, preferably with elders or crisis intervention.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred; current licensure if applicable.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
