Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking an APS Specialist II to investigate abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly and disabled. The role involves conducting home visits, interviewing victims and caregivers, and coordinating protective services within a multi-county area.

The position requires strong communication, independence, and resilience, with a Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience. Travel and on-call duties are expected, with a comprehensive state benefits package and pension plan.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available to be in an on call rotation with other members of your team.
• Travel within local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, utilizing your personal vehicle when necessary. Minimal overnight travel required.
