Job summary

Elder Services Agency in Massachusetts is seeking a Protective Services Specialist to assess elder abuse and neglect, conduct intake and investigations, and develop service plans with ongoing monitoring.

Responsibilities include performing home visits, coordinating with families and community resources, writing case notes, maintaining records, and handling word processing tasks. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel as needed; English and Spanish fluency required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, public health, or gerontology plus at least one year of protective/crisis intervention experience.
• Or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least two years of protective or crisis intervention case management experience.

Job description

Full-time, 35 hours/week

NOT remote

Full-time position in Protective Services Unit of Elder Services Agency. Duties include intake, investigation, service plans and monitoring cases of abuse and neglect of elders. Requires home visits, knowledge of community resources, ability to work with families, case writing, record keeping and word processing skills. Must have valid driver's license, reliable transportation and be available for rotating on-call duties. Excellent benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters or higher degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least one year of experience in counseling, casework, case management, preferably in a Protective Services or crisis intervention role; or (b) A Bachelors' degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least two years of experience in counseling, casework or case management providing protective or crisis intervention services.

Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs

Fluency in English and Spanish required.

LSW preferred.

Travel reimbursement is $0.725/mile
