Job summary

Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Protective Services caseworker in the Elder Services Agency. The role involves intake, investigation, developing service plans, and monitoring cases of elder abuse and neglect.

Requires ability to perform home visits and coordinate with community resources. Candidates should have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in related fields with experience, be able to climb stairs, hold a valid driver’s license, and be fluent in English and

Qualifications

• Masters or higher degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least one year of counseling, casework, or case management experience.
• Or a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least two years of protective or crisis intervention experience.
• Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• LSW preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; rotating on-call duties may be required.

Responsibilities

• Intake, investigation, service plans and monitoring cases of elder abuse and neglect.
• Must perform home visits and coordinate with families and community resources.
• Maintain case records and demonstrate proficiency in word processing.
• Support on-call rotation as required.

Job description

Full-time, 35 hours/week

NOT remote

Full-time position in Protective Services Unit of Elder Services Agency. Duties include intake, investigation, service plans and monitoring cases of abuse and neglect of elders. Requires home visits, knowledge of community resources, ability to work with families, case writing, record keeping and word processing skills. Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be available for rotating on-call duties. Excellent benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters or higher degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least one year of experience in counseling, casework, case management, preferably in a Protective Services or crisis intervention role; or (b) A Bachelors’ degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least two years of experience in counseling, casework or case management providing protective or crisis intervention services.

Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs

Fluency in English and Spanish required.

LSW preferred.
