Qualifications

• Top Secret Clearance Preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Three years of security experience within past five years and/or three years of military or National Guard service.
• PSOs must fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose English reports.
• Must complete Lautenberg Amendment and Domestic Violence certification annually.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Education includes High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Stand post at entry/exit points to verify IDs and surveil for suspicious items, packages, and people.
• Verbally challenge individuals approaching restricted areas and direct disturbances off property.
• Operate traffic control points and establish perimeters; set up barricades for incident scenes.
• Control access to incident scenes; maintain integrity of crime scenes until law enforcement arrives.
• Coordinate receipt, issuance, and tracking of keys, cards, and passes.
• Identify suspicious persons or vehicles; inspect packages and deliveries.
• Operate metal detectors and x-ray machines for prohibited items; conduct vehicle inspections.
• Perform frisks or pat-downs as needed and brief visitors with proper badges.
