Job summary

AMERICAN EAGLE PROTECTIVE SERVICES seeks a Security Professional to manage access control at entry/exit points, verify identifications, and conduct inquiries on suspicious items and persons. The role includes supervising visitor processing, maintaining security perimeters, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

You will screen packages with detectors, inspect deliveries, and ensure compliance with security policies.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be citizen of the United States of America.
  • Must have 18 months or more of law enforcement experience and completed training from an accredited state or federal law enforcement training academy.
  • PSOs shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.

Responsibilities

  • Stand post at entry/exit points to verify identification and conduct inquiries and surveillance of suspicious items, packages, and people.
  • Verbally challenge individuals approaching restricted areas and direct disturbances to leave the premises.
  • Operate access control measures and coordinate incident scene security.
  • Inspect packages, briefcases, containers, or items entering or leaving a federally controlled facility; use metal detectors and X-ray screening as needed.
  • Screen visitors and process visitor badges; coordinate with security staff.
  • Coordinate receipt, issuance, and tracking of keys, passcards, and vehicle passes; maintain logs.

Job description

Access ControlStand post at the entry/exit points to verify all persons' identification and conduct inquiries and surveillance of suspicious items, packages, and people.Ensure individuals do not depart with government material unless they are authorized to do so.Verbally challenge individuals who are approaching restricted areas.Direct individuals who cause a disturbance to leave the property.Operate traffic control points.Close off areas to traffic, establish perimeters, and set up barricades to secure incident scenes or facilities.Control access to incident scenes.Help ensure integrity of a crime scene, maintaining it in its original condition until law enforcement personnel take over.Coordinate the receipt, issuance, and tracking of all keys, key cards, lock combinations, vehicle passes/decals, etc.Identify suspicious persons or vehiclesScreeningInspect packages, briefcases, containers, or any other items in the possession of people entering or leaving a federally controlled facility.Operate metal detectors to search visitors for prohibited items.Operate x-ray machine to search deliveries and visitors' packages, equipment, and hand carried articles for prohibited items.Conduct vehicle inspection, which may include inspecting under seats, in the trunk, and under the vehicle.Conduct frisks or pat downs for weapons or other unauthorized items.Visitor ProcessingVerify proper identification of visitors required for issuance of visitor badges.Process visitors.Job Skills/RequirementsMust be 21 years of ageMust be citizen of the United States of AmericaMust have 18 months or more of law enforcement experience andsuccessfully completed training from an accredited state or federal law enforcement training academyPSOs shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
