Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution. You will diagnose issues, interpret schematics, and coordinate repairs across electrical rooms, vaults, and substations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–75% of the time.
• Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Time management and organization skills to meet deadlines.
• MS Excel, Word, Power DB, and Smartsheet experience is a plus.
• 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a HS diploma or higher.
• US work authorization

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering; performs electrical tests and repairs.
• Proficiently uses hand tools, meters, and other test equipment in energized rooms and substations.
• Reads schematics and wiring diagrams; corrects drawings and inspections.
• Programs and operates test equipment; follows safety practices.
• Commissions new relay and metering installations.
• Coordinates testing, troubleshooting and repairs with other departments.
• Maintains testing on relays and associated equipment such as standby generators.
• Participates in emergency callouts.
• Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
