Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks a Relay Technician II to perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems. This mid-level role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on skills in relay protection schemes.

You will develop testing plans, document results, and collaborate with engineers and project teams on site in Florida. A strong background in protective relays, transmission or distribution substations, and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen is required (safety sensitive).
• Criminal background check required.
• Overtime and travel to out-of-town sites may be needed.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Experience installing, maintaining, testing and repairing protective relays.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and participate in safety briefings.
• Apply Human Performance Error Reduction in daily work.
• Perform relay testing with senior technicians and engineers.
• Execute testing of protective relays and control systems.
• Analyze relay operations and system performance data.
• Read One-line and Three-line diagrams and relay logic.
• Develop testing and isolation plans for safe execution.
• Create detailed reports of test results and calibration data.
