Job summary

Encode Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of LanceSoft, seeks an experienced Grid Test Bay Application Engineer to support protection and control panels for generator, transformer, feeder and bus protections.

You will design test plans, create relay setting files, and upload configurations while coordinating with teams for commissioning and field support. Domestic travel may be required, with substantial remote work until site activation.

Qualifications

• University degree or College diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 7 years experience in relay testing and setting files for Multi-Function Relays.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, protection schemes and communication applications.
• Experience creating test and maintenance procedures for protection panels.
• Experience programming Client Multilin UR relays.
• Solid understanding of protection principles (Distance, Differential, Bus, Generator, etc.).
• Proven teamwork, initiative, and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer applications and the protection/control panel designs.
• Prepare test plans to verify multi-function relays behave correctly.
• Create relay setting files based on diagrams and reports.
• Upload settings and configure communication including IEC 61850.
• Execute tests and simulate complex protection schemes.
• Lead projects with some senior guidance, provide field support.
• Train and support team members on designs and testing.
