Job summary

Viridan Group is seeking an experienced Protection & Control Engineer to support utility-scale solar, BESS, and PV projects. You will lead protection design, relay settings, and commissioning activities under the SVP of Engineering.

You will oversee SCADA integration, RTAC/RTU setups, and substation automation, and coordinate with EPCs, vendors, and utilities to energize projects. This role requires 3–5 years of field experience, strong knowledge of protective relays, and excellent

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
3–5 years of project or field engineering experience on renewable energy construction projects with P&C focus.
Strong knowledge of protective relays, substation protection, SCADA, and utility-scale solar and storage facilities.
Familiarity with North American utility interconnection requirements and standards.
Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead P&C design, relay coordination, and engineering reviews for utility-scale solar and BESS.
Oversee SCADA, RTAC, RTU, EMS integration, and substation automation.
Develop protection schemes, relay settings, schematics, and commissioning procedures.
Lead commissioning activities including relay testing, SCADA checkout, and energization.
Troubleshoot protection, equipment, and communications issues and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with EPCs, vendors, utilities, and internal teams to deliver projects.
