Job summary

SouthWestern Electric Power Co. seeks a P&C Electrician to install, operate, test and maintain protection and control devices at the Arsenal Hill Powerplant and related facilities.

You’ll work with digital/electromechanical relays, SDRs, DFRs, RTUs, SCADA, PLCs, telemetering and associated communications equipment under supervision to ensure safe, reliable electric service. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or related field.
• No previous work experience required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and meet vehicle operation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices and related equipment.
• Test protection and control devices periodically and as required.
• Calibrate protection and control devices on a pre-established schedule.
• Diagnose trouble, mis-operation, or damage and assist with corrective action.
• Operate a computer to test, calibrate, and retrieve data from protection, control, and related devices.
• Maintain test equipment and produce accurate records and drawings.
