Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a P&C Electrician within 30 miles of Arsenal Hill Powerplant to install, test, and maintain protection and control devices.

The role involves testing, calibration, data retrieval, and coordination with qualified personnel under supervision, with opportunities for advancement within AEP. No prior experience required; travel and physical demands are noted.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or related field.
• No previous work experience required; ability to learn P&C Electrician duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs., climb ladders, and work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices.
• Test protection and control devices periodically and calibrate on schedule.
• Diagnose trouble or mis-operation and assist with corrective actions.
• Operate computer devices to test, calibrate, and retrieve data from devices.
• Maintain test and automotive equipment and prepare accurate records.
