Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Wendell, NC invites candidates to join the Power Protection & Automation Technician Internship Training Program (January Cohort). This hands-on program begins in January 2027 and is based in Wendell, NC, offering immersive experience inside our Panel Assembly Workshop (PA PAWS) where SIPANELS and ICPs are assembled to power protection and automation systems.

Participants gain practical skills in electrical assembly, protection relays, and automation devices with mentorship

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or related program (Associate level).
Interest in how power systems, protection relays, and automation panels work together.
Demonstrated attention to detail, teamwork, and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist in assembling and wiring industrial control panels for electrical substations.
Learn wire cutting, crimping, and routing using Siemens standards.
Support panel testing and verification, including electrical safety checks and documentation.
Gain exposure to fiber optic and Ethernet testing used in protection and automation systems.
Participate in real-world FATs with customers and Siemens engineers.
Collaborate with experienced technicians and engineers to learn integration of protection relays and devices.
