Job summary

Hanger Clinic in Towson, MD seeks a Prosthetist and/or Orthotist Clinician (CPO, CP, Board Eligible) to join a collaborative team serving younger amputees and high-functioning users. Work primarily in clinic with minimal travel, with access to on-site fabrication support and strong referral relationships with local physicians and PM&R.

Qualifications

• Current ABC or BOC certification, or board eligibility.
• Baccalaureate degree in prosthetics/orthotics or foreign equivalent; ABC board-eligibility.
• Valid driver's license and driving record within required standards.
• In states where licensure is required, ability to obtain and maintain licensure.
• May consider candidates not certified or board-eligible but with 5+ years of demonstrated experience under supervision.
• May consider candidates who wish to see patients in their certified discipline while completing residency in the other.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate the need for prosthetic and/or orthotic services and recommend options.
• Examine and evaluate patient needs related to disease and functional loss.
• Design prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
• Take casts, perform model modifications, and select materials.
• Perform fitting and static/dynamic alignments.
• Evaluate device fit, function, and medical efficacy; adjust as needed.
• Instruct patients in use of devices; provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
• Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health professionals.
• Maintain effective materials management and quality processes; balance costs and performance.
• Meet with physicians and referral sources to secure ongoing referrals and revenue targets.
