Job summary

The Montana VA Health Care System, part of the Veterans Health Administration, seeks a Health Technician to support prosthetic and sensory aids services for Veterans requiring devices and related equipment. Responsibilities include coordinating orders, procurement, and customer service across internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring medical necessity and eligibility compliance.

Telework may be authorized on an ad hoc basis; standard schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm at the Montana

Qualifications

• Transcript must be submitted with your application for education qualifications.
• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.
• If you are using foreign education, you must submit a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and enters all complete orders into CPRS; tracks specialty orders and ensures timely distribution of specialty items.
• Coordinates with Community Care, clinical services, vendors, and internal staff to procure, deliver, repair, replacement, and warranty support of prosthetic appliances and equipment.
• Reviews consults, prescriptions, and supporting clinical documentation to ensure completeness, medical necessity, Veteran eligibility, and compliance with applicable policies.
• Serves as a point of contact to internal and external stakeholders for understanding Prosthetics Specialty Program regulations and eligibility requirements.
