Job summary

Cal Poly is seeking a Prospect Development Analyst in University Development and Alumni Engagement to conduct research, analyze prospects, and support gift fundraising across the university. You will partner with development staff to identify, evaluate, maintain and track major gift prospects using wealth screening data and other tools.

The role serves as a campus resource for major donor information and applies independent judgment to interpret policies for prospect identification and tracking.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of prospect research, development, and fundraising practices.
• Ability to apply basic research and statistical methods to evaluate prospects.
• Ability to analyze data and project outcomes using basic statistics.
• Ability to learn university policies and procedures and apply them.
• Familiarity with university infrastructure and donor databases or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality, accurate prospect research and management to support fundraising initiatives.
• Identify, evaluate, maintain and track qualified major gift prospects using wealth screening and other tools.
• Serve as a campus resource for information on major donors and prospects.
