Job summary

Miami University Alumni Association is seeking a Senior Director of Prospect Development to lead the Prospect Development team within the University Advancement Solutions and Innovation department. This role shapes vision, policies, and procedures for prospect research and management to drive fundraising success.

The position requires strategic leadership, data-driven decision making, and strong collaboration with senior leadership to support over 45 gift officers and related portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 7+ years in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on prospect management and research for individuals, corporations and foundations.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
• Demonstrated mastery of prospect research, relationship management, and lifecycle progression.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and vision for the Prospect Development team.
• Develop and implement policies for prospect research and management.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and staff mentorship.
• Manage team budget and vendor relationships.
• Lead prospect identification and research to support fundraising.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure data-informed decisions.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure revenue projections are met.
• Coordinate moves management and portfolio reviews.
