Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY seeks a Propulsion Systems Engineering Director to lead the Propulsion Systems Engineering organization.

You will define engineering strategy, drive workforce planning, manage budgets, and allocate resources across all segments, while mentoring a high-performing technical team. In this role you will shape the technology roadmap, oversee IRAD investments, and collaborate with the Space Division to advance next-generation propulsion.

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• 7+ years in progressive leadership roles implementing continuous improvement using lean techniques.
• Experience bringing products through development cycles into production.
• Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Propulsion Business Unit Engineering organization, including strategy, execution, workforce planning, budgets, capital forecasting, and resource allocation across segments.
• Direct talent initiatives: recruitment, development, performance management, succession planning, mentoring and coaching.
• Oversee engineering operations, IRAD investments, processes, and continuous improvement to support growth.
• Ensure delivery of innovative, high-quality technical solutions meeting customer requirements and lifecycle integrity.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, accountability, and change leadership.
• Establish KPIs and tiered management to monitor performance and resolve escalated issues.
• Develop long-term workforce, capability, and technology strategies to support growth.
• Participate in strategic planning and capital planning at BU level and work with Space Division leadership.
• Collaborate with Space Division Engineering Director on strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
• Build strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and Moog stakeholders.
