Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Systems Engineer II to verify propulsion systems meet customer needs. You will develop requirements, align with design teams and customers, and plan verification and qualification with MBSE focus.

Responsibilities include supporting major programs, building qualification plans for SRMs, and maintaining traceability across engineering deliverables. Eligible candidates must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and be based in Colorado.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering (or related technical field).
• 2+ years applying aerospace systems engineering processes (design reviews, requirements validation/verification, risk assessments).
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo.
• Demonstrated organization skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to earn and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support major programs by defining, validating, and maintaining requirements.
• Build system-level qualification plans for Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs).
• Track requirement verification status through product development and qualification.
• Review test and analysis plans to ensure requirements are met.
• Support system-level risk analysis and mitigation; manage risks to closure.
• Establish traceability across deliverables and cross-functional teams.
• Develop MBSE models of SRM systems and MBSE methodologies for the internal team.
• Communicate requirement compliance to management and customers at reviews.
• Integrate internal models with customer-provided models and frameworks.
• Create, manage, and train system engineering tools and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
