Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Systems Engineer II to verify propulsion systems meet customer needs, with duties across requirements development, MBSE, verification planning, and cross-functional alignment.

You will create MBSE models, manage traceability, review test plans, and work with management and customers through program reviews while maintaining security-clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering (or related technical subject).
• 2+ years experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes (design reviews, requirements validation/verification).
• Familiarity with DOORS or Jama.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret and influence engineering drawings, specs, and test data.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and customer interfacing.
• Must be eligible for/maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support major programs in defining, validating, and maintaining requirements.
• Build system-level qualification plans for Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs).
• Track requirement verification status through development and qualification.
• Review test/analysis plans to confirm requirement compliance.
• Support system-level risk analysis and mitigation; own risks to closure.
• Maintain traceability across system engineering deliverables and teams.
• Develop MBSE models of SRM systems and MBSE methodologies for the team.
• Communicate with management and customers on requirement compliance at program reviews.
• Integrate internal models into customer-provided models and frameworks.
• Create, manage, and train system engineering tools and processes.
