Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Colorado is seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer to lead structural analysis projects for propulsion subsystem designs, connect finite‑element models to design reviews, and ensure stress checks meet performance, reliability, and safety goals.

You will mentor junior analysts, collaborate across engineering teams, define test requirements, present findings at design reviews and technical forums, and deliver high‑quality analysis products and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field.
  • Professional experience performing stress analysis of metallic structures.
  • Experience participating in multidisciplinary design reviews.
  • Experience using finite element tools (NX/Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys, FEMAP, and/or PATRAN).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stress analysis using linear and nonlinear solutions for propulsion subsystem components from concept to flight.
  • Review and provide feedback on models, reports, and deliverables.
  • Review and approve drawings, specifications, development plans, and vendor analyses.
  • Collaborate across a multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure structural integrity across the lifecycle.
  • Define and support structural test requirements, predict outcomes, oversee tests, and lead post-test activities.
  • Present technical findings to internal teams, customers, and program leadership at design reviews.
  • Deliver high-quality analysis products and documentation.
