Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced propulsion engineer in Colorado to design, manufacture, procure, and test propulsion components and assemblies. You will coordinate with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and related fields including manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering.

Independent design solutions using CAD and analyses are expected. The role involves leading integration, developing performance specs, and supporting reviews with program personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience with 1st order analysis in fluids, statics and dynamics, heat transfer/thermal.
• Experience with mechanical CAD modeling in CREO or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of Requirements development and management.

Responsibilities

• Subsystem Integration
• Lead propulsion component design and development
• Develop specifications, statements of work and supplier data requirements
• Maintain engineering drawings, specs, and analyses
• Provide design solutions using solid models and drawings
• Review requirements to ensure proper flow into detailed design
• Support production meetings and resolve anomalies
• Evaluate and own technical aspects of procurement from hardware suppliers
• Provide data packages and support reviews and technical interchange meetings
