Job summary

Saronic Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer – Propulsion & Machinery Installation Planning to define installation steps for propulsion equipment on autonomous vessels. You will translate design intent into sequenced work instructions and ensure alignment and tolerances are met throughout construction and trials.

You will coordinate with structural, electrical, piping, and HVAC teams and ensure procedures meet ABS/USCG/NAVSEA requirements while supporting sea trials and continuous

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with marine propulsion/machinery or equivalent planning background.
• Understanding of main propulsion equipment, gears, shaft lines, bearings, seals.
• Familiarity with alignment methods and torque/tensioning procedures.
• Ability to read machinery arrangements, vendor manuals, shaft calculations, and 3D models.
• Strong written communication to produce clear installation work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Translate vendor manuals and shaft calculations into step-by-step work instructions.
• Define installation sequence relative to hull construction and erection.
• Coordinate foundations and interfacing systems with structural/electrical/piping/HVAC teams.
• Specify foundation chocking, grouting, torque/sequence requirements.
• Define alignment procedures and shaft line installation relative to hull milestones.
• Plan anchorage and ramp system installation sequencing and testing.
• Coordinate with QA and vendor reps on inspection and acceptance.
• Ensure procedures reflect ABS, USCG, NAVSEA requirements and documentation.
• Support first-article installations and witness alignment checks and sea trials.
• Refine procedures based on feedback and lessons learned.
