Job summary

Saronic Technologies seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to define complex installation steps for propulsion, shafting, and ramp systems on autonomous vessels. You will collaborate with structural, electrical, piping, HVAC, QA teams and vendor reps to ensure precise, safe execution during construction and sea trials.

The role emphasizes rigorous alignment, foundation work, and adherence to ABS/USCG/NAVSEA requirements, with emphasis on test sequencing and documentation throughout the build.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with marine propulsion/machinery or equivalent planning background.
• Understanding of main propulsion equipment, reduction gears, shaft lines, bearings, and stern tube/seal arrangements.
• Ability to read machinery arrangements, vendor manuals, shaft calculations, and 3D models.
• Strong written communication to produce clear, unambiguous work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Translate machinery arrangements and vendor manuals into step-by-step installation work instructions.
• Define installation sequence relative to hull construction and erection.
• Coordinate foundations and interfacing systems so they're ready at the right stage.
• Specify foundation chocking, grouting, bolt torque and sequence requirements.
• Define alignment procedures and sequence shaft line installation with hull milestones.
• Plan installation, fit-up, and functional test sequencing for ramp and anchor systems.
• Define inspection hold points and acceptance criteria across propulsion, anchor, and ramp systems.
• Coordinate with QA and vendors on inspection and acceptance.
• Support first-article installations and witness alignment checks and sea trials.
• Refine procedures based on feedback and lessons learned.
