Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Propulsion Component Engineering Intern to support the development of flight-critical mechanical and fluid system components, including valves, actuators, and integrated propulsion hardware. You will contribute to hardware development from clean-sheet design through build, test, qualification, and production, working closely with propulsion and vehicle teams.

Your work will directly support systems operating in high-pressure, high-temperature, and dynamic flight

Qualifications

  • Hands-on hardware experience from internships, coursework or projects.
  • Must be enrolled in a STEM program (3rd/4th year undergrad or graduate).
  • Strong interest in propulsion, mechanical systems and hardware development.
  • Solid understanding of fluids, thermodynamics, mechanics and materials.
  • Able to work within cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.
  • GPA 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of propulsion components from concept through flight-ready delivery.
  • Contribute to designs for high-pressure, high-temperature and transient conditions.
  • Assist with engineering trade studies on performance, manufacturability and reliability.
  • Support clean-sheet design, analysis and integration of propulsion hardware.
  • Enable rapid build-test-iterate cycles and troubleshoot during development.
  • Define requirements, interfaces and integration strategies with system owners.
  • Assist in system-level sizing, architecture and design trades.
