Job summary

Hermeus seeks a Lead Propulsion Component Engineer to own propulsion hardware from concept to flight, including valves, actuators, and high-performance systems. This player-coach role leads a small team, delivering hardware across design, test, and production cycles in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise 2-5 engineers, drive rigorous design reviews, and collaborate across propulsion, structures, and vehicle teams to ensure robust integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience developing mechanical or propulsion hardware.
• Demonstrated experience owning hardware from concept through test or production.

Responsibilities

• Own propulsion components from concept through flight qualification.
• Design for extreme environments: high temp, pressure, dynamic loading.
• Drive trade studies across performance, manufacturability, reliability, testability.
