Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA invites applications for an internship conversion in the Propulsion Department. This full-time, on-site role develops hands-on propulsion expertise and supports design, testing, and analysis activities.

You'll work with multidisciplinary teams, gain exposure to propulsion systems, and receive training and mentorship. Candidates pursuing or holding a Master’s degree in aerospace or related fields with strong academics and internship experience are

Qualifications

• Master's degree in aerospace/mechanical/chemical/materials science or physics (pursuing or recently conferred).
• Previous internship in The Aerospace Corporation.
• 0–1 year of industry work experience.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Knowledge of propulsion, thermodynamics, or related engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the evaluation of propulsion system design, performance, and applications.
• Developing and applying new and existing tools and analyses to assess propulsion system performance.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating hardware and operational risks.
• Providing real-time support for customer tests, flights, and anomaly resolution efforts.
• Participating in multidisciplinary teams and reviews to assess flight readiness.
