Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a 2027 Propulsion Engineering Graduate Intern to assist with propulsion analysis, testing, and modeling for high-priority missions. The internship is full-time and on-site for a minimum of 10 weeks.

You will work within the Propulsion Department of VSD, develop tools in MATLAB/Python, and present findings while pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in aerospace or mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree must be completed by internship start date.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to launch vehicle and spacecraft program customers.
• Participate in analysis and modeling of propulsion system performance and applications.
• Develop tools to assess propulsion system performance in ground tests and flight.
• Support propulsion laboratory research with setup and execution of experiments.
• Present findings to team members, customers, and leadership.
