Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Propulsion Engineer II for BE-3U to join our Engines team in Renton, WA or Huntsville, AL. You will help develop test plans, analyze data, and support engine testing and improvements.

You will collaborate across disciplines, interpret engineering drawings, and apply thermodynamics and cryogenic propulsion knowledge to drive hardware improvements. Relocation may be provided and travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or physics.
• 2+ years of professional experience in propulsion design, analysis, or test.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structures.
• Familiarity with data analysis and data processing, including Python scripting.
• Working knowledge of propulsion components and high-pressure cryogenic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering standards and drawings.
• Willingness to travel to support on-site testing and collaborate cross-functionally.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to develop test plans.
• Perform steady-state and transient system analysis.
• Support component and integrated engine testing and analyze test data.
• Generate test reports and support requirements verification.
• Contribute to design and test cadence improvements and root cause analyses.
