Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a combustion devices engineer to design and develop combustion devices for rocket engines and spaceflight systems. You will oversee the product life-cycle from requirements through flight qualification, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and performance.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering, CAD experience, familiarity with GD&T, and the ability to perform basic FEA and data analysis. MS preferred; Creo/Windchill experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired).
  • Familiarity with a variety of combustion devices.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in a related field.
  • Computer aided design (CAD) experience.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to perform structural hand calculations and perform basic/iterative FEA.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and data processing.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop combustion devices (injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components) for various rocket engines and spaceflight systems.
  • Oversee complete product life-cycle from initial requirements through flight qualification including design, manufacturing, test support, data reviews, non-conforming hardware processing, and reporting.
