Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design and development of combustion systems and related mechanical components within a safety-focused culture. You will serve as the technical authority for code compliance across projects, guiding teams to safe, reliable, and compliant designs.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and applying applicable codes and standards, with emphasis on quality assurance for pressure equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering calculations including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and pressure equipment sizing.
• Develop comprehensive technical specifications, design criteria, and engineering drawings.
• Create and maintain code data reports, design documentation, and compliance records.
• Review and approve vendor submissions for code compliance.
• Design pressure vessels, piping systems, and related mechanical components in accordance with applicable codes.
• Provide guidance to engineering teams on code compliance.
• Develop inspection and testing plans that meet requirements.
• Support certification and recertification activities.
• Evaluate non-conformances and develop resolution strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers on code application and compliance practices.
