Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a test engineer to contribute to engine test operations and data analysis for the next generation of rocket propulsion systems. You will assist with test planning, hardware integration, and post-test evaluation in a safety-focused, collaborative environment.

The role supports the West Texas Van Horn site and requires strong fundamentals in fluids, thermodynamics, and engineering drawings, with opportunities to lead small projects and work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, or physics desired).
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall2026.
  • Experience in a testing environment and in executing test procedures.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently.
  • Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant internship/co‑op and/or hands‑on experience demonstrating leadership and technical growth.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain professional relationships, and support an inclusive culture.
  • Self-driven with minimal direction and proactive requirements gathering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and operate test systems for fluid, propulsion, mechanical, and electronic systems.
  • Integrate safety, manufacturing, operations, materials, and instrumentation into test campaigns.
  • Analyze test data to support verification tasks.
  • Direct hardware integration into test facilities.
  • Plan tests, perform risk assessments, execute tests, review data, and analyze performance.
  • Develop test support software and equipment to improve test frequency and quality.
  • Identify, scope, and resolve test-related problems.
