Job summary

Mathematica, Inc. is seeking a Proposal Development Associate in Washington, DC to support the preparation and submission of high-quality technical proposals.

You will work with proposal directors and cross-functional teams to coordinate activities, manage timelines, and ensure compliance with submission requirements. The role provides comprehensive proposal management support throughout the lifecycle and contributes to tools and best practices that improve efficiency and consistency in proposal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, public policy, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in proposal development, business development, or related field.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Experience supporting proposals or RFPs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full proposal development lifecycle and ensure timely, compliant submissions.
• Develop and maintain proposal schedules, compliance matrices, outlines, and other guiding tools.
• Coordinate kickoff meetings and document key decisions and next steps.
• Organize proposal files and assist authors with background materials and standard language.
• Coordinate with pricing and other business functions to align technical, financial, and admin components.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to obtain required information for proposals.
• Develop and compile project timelines, staffing information, and deliverables.
• Coordinate QA reviews and final submission support.
• Support business development activities related to priority clients and growth opportunities.
• Assist with trainings and provide guidance on processes, tools, and best practices.
• Contribute to analyses to support continuous improvement and decision-making.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
