Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking a Proposal Specialist to lead the development of proposals, qualifications packages, and interview materials for engineering and construction opportunities in Philadelphia.

You will collaborate with technical staff, business development, and marketing to create clear pursuit content that reflects Southland’s expertise and value. The role requires strong writing, editing, and project-management skills, proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft 365, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or business.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills for proposals and presentations.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign for professional proposals.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• AEC industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce professional proposals in response to RFPs and RFQs using Adobe InDesign.
• Review solicitation documents to identify requirements and submission instructions.
• Coordinate with BD, operations, and technical teams to gather information.
• Plan and manage proposal schedules, outlines, and content assignments.
• Assist in writing, editing, and organizing proposal narratives.
• Collaborate with marketing and design resources for layouts and visuals.
• Manage final review and production to ensure timeliness.
• Assist in client interview preparations with slide content and materials.
• Develop and maintain proposal resources to support pursuits.
• Collaborate with a national team of proposal specialists.
