Job summary

ABB is seeking a qualified Proposal Engineer for the NAM LV Switchgear team. You will lead bid, estimate, and quotation efforts for diverse customer specifications, balancing technical and commercial considerations to maximize margins and market competitiveness.

You will coordinate inputs, develop well-documented tenders, and manage technical, financial, and project management aspects of each bid, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; significant experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years in proposals, field application, or engineering for switchgear or similar products.
• Experience with product configurators and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations with cost elements.
• Prepare well-documented tenders with timely, detailed inputs.
• Manage technical, financial, and project-management aspects of bids.

Main stakeholders are internal and externals customers.You will be mainly accountable for:Formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.Creating well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.Managing the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.Ensuring that inputs for editing activities related to bid, estimate, and quotation preparation are provided in a timely manner and in accordance with the established quality procedures.Our team dynamicsYou will join a multicultural and multi-experienced team, where you will be able to thrive.Qualifications for the role:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), Marketing, Sales is preferred but not required.
