Job summary

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriter in the Glatfelter Ministry Care Underwriting Department. The role requires qualification and pricing of new and renewal business within delegated authority and servicing accounts in line with service standards.

The position is onsite at our York, PA office and involves relationship management with producers, assessment of underwriting information, and adherence to program guidelines and endorsements.

Qualifications

• Analytical ability to exercise underwriting judgment and make decisions.
• Organizational skills and ability to handle tasks on a priority basis.
• Proficient in IT tools and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Completes underwriting qualification and pricing of new business and renewal submissions.
• Requests additional information when needed and communicates acceptance or declination to producer.
• Maintains relationships with producers and is the primary contact for assigned region.
• Analyzes underwriting information including applications, loss runs, inspections and budgets.
• Prepares underwriting approach to large renewals and new business.
• Handles business per delegated underwriting authority and passes audits.
• Ensures accuracy of final policy product and compliance with state filings.
