Job summary

Glatfelter Insurance Group seeks a Sr. Property & Casualty Underwriter for Glatfelter Healthcare to independently qualify and price new and renewal business, while servicing accounts per service standards. This role is onsite at Berwyn, PA or Leader Heights, York, PA offices.

The position requires five years of P&C underwriting experience, a related BA, and professional designations or license. Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• BA degree in insurance, business or related field.
• AU, CPCU, ARM designation or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Property & Casualty Underwriter.
• Current property-casualty license for state of residence.
• Ability to underwrite large accounts and knowledge of commercial insurance.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price new and renewal submissions per guidelines.
• Build relationships with producers and be primary contact for assigned region.
• Analyze underwriting information including applications, MVRs, loss runs and audits.
• Participate in large account reviews and renewals for new business.
• Ensure accuracy of final policy products and comply with state requirements.
• Mentor and train junior underwriters and staff as needed.
• Support sales staff and attend agent meetings as requested.
