Job summary

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Supervisor for the Glatfelter Public Entities team. The role will support the Program Manager in underwriting coordination, risk assessment and pricing, while supervising P&C underwriters and guiding staff.

The position is onsite at our Leader Heights, York, PA office and involves working closely with producers, associates, and management to ensure profitable program outcomes.

Qualifications

• BA degree in insurance, business or related field preferred or equivalent industry experience.
• Must attain AU, CPCU, ARM or comparable designation.
• Minimum five years commercial lines underwriting experience.
• License to operate in resident state and other required licenses.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily underwriting of the property & casualty book within delegated authority.
• Monitor adherence to underwriting guidelines and pricing.
• Oversee underwriting staff and provide guidance and training.
• Coordinate and guide training and development plans for staff.
• Communicate with program sales staff about market conditions and opportunities.
• Assist with recruitment and selection of underwriting associates.
