Job summary

The County of El Dorado is hiring for a Property Transfer Specialist in Placerville, CA. Under supervision, you will review and analyze legal property documents, determine actions based on laws, and assist with ownership questions and transfers.

The role involves researching complex title changes, entering data into county systems, and maintaining detailed records. A background in property-related offices is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in an Assessor's office, Recorder's Office, or title company, or equivalent office experience working with legal descriptions and/or legal documents relating to real property.
• College level coursework in a related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receives, reviews and verifies a variety of complex legal documents and records pertaining to property ownership changes and specialty transfers.
• Determines appropriate actions to be initiated based on applicable laws and regulations.
• Answers complex ownership questions from title companies, property owners or agents, attorneys or tax representatives.
• Resolves ownership questions and clarifies understanding of property transfers through probate proceedings and court determinations.
• Clarifies conflicting ownership issues by reviewing tax and estate planning provisions.
• Performs extensive research to determine the taxability status of complex title changes.
• Enters information into a computerized system with accuracy and applies proper codes.
