Job summary

County of El Dorado's Office of the Assessor, Appraisal Division, is hiring for Appraiser I/II/Sr. Appraiser in Placerville, CA. Responsibilities include appraising diverse property types, conducting field inspections, and communicating with property owners to determine fair value.

Candidates must meet California BOE certification requirements with progressive experience for higher ranks; a valid driver’s license and related certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must meet education/experience criteria for Permanent Certification per California BOE Rules.
• One year of varied property appraisal experience required for Appraiser II.
• Two additional years of journey level appraisal for Sr. Appraiser; advanced certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Appraise industrial, commercial, residential and/or agricultural properties for taxation purposes.
• Conduct field inspections and verify property data.
• Interview property owners and review maps and photos to determine value.
• Apply Revenue and Taxation codes to assess taxable value for annual rolls.
