Job summary

The County of El Dorado's Office of the Assessor in Placerville seeks a Property Transfer Specialist under general supervision to review and analyze legal property documents and determine appropriate actions.

You will answer public questions, enter data into a computerized system with high accuracy, and support daily office operations while applying Revenue and Taxation Codes and government regulations.

Qualifications

• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in an Assessor's office, Recorder's Office, or title company, or equivalent office experience working with legal descriptions and/or legal documents relating to real property at a level equivalent to the County's class of Assessment Technician II. College level coursework in a related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receives, reviews and verifies a variety of complex legal documents and records pertaining to property ownership changes and specialty transfers; determines appropriate actions to be initiated based upon applicable laws and regulations.
• Answers complex and technical ownership questions from title companies, property owners or their agents, attorneys or tax representatives, and other interested parties; prepares correspondence to answer questions when appropriate.
• Enters a variety of information into a computerized system with a high degree of accuracy; determines and applies proper codes and initiates transactions.
